YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly track & field awards and Salisbury University freshman Sarah Taylor earned the Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday.
Taylor competed in the Sam Howell Invitational, hosted by Princeton University, breaking the school record in the pole vault, clearing 10' 10". The previous school record had stood since 2007. Taylor placed 10th in the event over the weekend and was the top Division III performer in the field.
The pole vault, in which Taylor now holds both the indoor and outdoor school records, is the only event Taylor competed in this weekend.
The Sea Gulls will return to action this Saturday, April 12 at the Johns Hopkins University/Loyola University Invitational.
