Two school records fall at SWAT Last Chance Meet
The Salisbury University men’s and women’s track & field teams sent a handful of student-athletes to the SWAT Last Chance Meet, hosted by Swarthmore College on Monday, for one of their final efforts at posting a time worthy of invitation to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships later this month. Three Sea Gulls posted school records at the meet, and two came home with wins.

Three Sea Gulls claim CAC Athlete of the Week honors
The Capital Athletic Conference released its weekly awards and three Salisbury University student-athletes collected track & field honors. Senior Becca Stinner was named the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week while junior Chelsea Tavik claimed Field Athlete of the Week honors. Senior Jay Drenner broke a school record which had stood since 1994 to claim the Men’s Field Athlete of the Week award.

Saturday was the final opportunity for a handful of Salisbury University track & field student-athletes to post marks good enough to earn an invitation to the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Sea Gulls traveled to the Virginia Tech Final Qualifier and came home with three school records.

Sea Gulls collect 14 victories, including men's Steven Berstler 5,000-meter run, at Lloyd Sigler Spring Meet
The Salisbury University men’s and women’s track & field teams honored a former coach and a former student-athlete who each passed away within the past year on Saturday. The Sea Gulls, in the newly named Lloyd Sigler Spring Meet, earned team victories on both the men’s and women’s sides and saw four top-three finishes in the 5,000-meter run, named in honor of former teammate Steven Berstler, who passed away this past December.

The Salisbury University men’s and women’s track & field teams each collected the first indoor championships in the history of the Capital Athletic Conference and on Tuesday, when the league’s yearly awards were announced, Salisbury picked up three key individual awards and 23 all-conference performers.
