Salisbury track and field will not travel to CNU Saturday

SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University track and field team, scheduled to travel to the Vince Brown Invitational at Christopher Newport University on Saturday, has opted to withdraw from the competition due to travel complications expected from an impending storm heading toward the Middle Atlantic section of the country.

Strong winds, rain, snow and sleet are expected to pound the east coast, dumping as much as two feet of precipitation over the weekend.

The Sea Gulls recently had a strong showing at the Thompson Invitational at the University of Delaware, seeing two individual athletes qualify for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Salisbury will return to action at the Lafayette/Rider Invitational in New York City on Feb. 12.
