Sea Gull men ranked No. 18 in latest USTFCCCA indoor track & field rankings

NEW ORLEANS - The Salisbury University men's track & field team has not competed since it joined the top 25 indoor rankings released by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association last week. But the Sea Gulls did remain in the rankings, released Wednesday, currently sitting at No. 18 in the nation.

Salisbury did not travel, as scheduled, to the Vince Brown Invitational, hosted by Christopher Newport University last weekend due to the winter weather system that dumped more than a foot of snow across the Delmarva Peninsula, making travel difficult.

The Sea Gulls are scheduled to make a trip to New York City on Friday, Feb. 12, to compete in the Lafayette/Rider Invitational, beginning a stretch of four-straight weekends of travel to close out the indoor regular season. The Sea Gulls hope to send a number of athletes to the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Greencastle, Ind., on March 12 and 13.

Senior Brandon Fugett (Randallstown, Md.) has already qualified automatically for the championships in the shot put, while senior Delannie Spriggs (Owings, Md.) has provisionally qualified in the 60-meter dash.
