Salisbury men's track and field team remains No. 4 in USTFCCCA rankings

NEW ORLEANS - The Salisbury University track & field teams saw little movement in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association outdoor rankings. The men's team remains the top team in the Mideast Region and the No. 4 team in the nation while the women dropped one spot in the Mideast Region, currently sitting as the fourth-ranked team.

The men garnered 95.76 points for the national rankings and remain at No. 4, trailing No. 3 North Central (Ill.) College by just over 15 points. The top team in the rankings, with 269.16 points, is McMurry University. The Sea Gulls boast 311.33 points in the Mideast Region rankings, more than 105 points clear of No. 2 Penn State Behrend (206.26 points).

The women have 191.60 points in the Mideast Region, falling one spot as Johns Hopkins University moved up, holding a slim 4.92-point advantage on the Sea Gulls. Moravian College jumped up to the top spot in the region with 300.27 points, while Haverford College (290.69) dropped to second.

The Sea Gull teams will be in action on Saturday as they will host the Capital Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The day will begin at 9 a.m., with the women's 10,000-meter run. The event is scheduled to conclude at 5:50 p.m., with the awards ceremony. The Salisbury men will be looking for their seventh consecutive and 12th overall CAC title while the women are challenging for their first.
