Sea Gulls compete in TCNJ Last Chance Qualifier, prepare for NCAA championships

EWING, N.J. - As the season winds down for the Salisbury University track & field team, some athletes are still gearing up for one last meet. Before the final competition of the season, the NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships, two Sea Gulls made the trip to The College of New Jersey to compete in the Lions' Last Chance Qualifier on Thursday.

Senior thrower Brandon Fugett (Randallstown, Md.) and sophomore sprinter Lauren Foreman (Upper Marlboro, Md.) each competed in the meet, which marked the final meet of the season before the championships. Foreman competed in both the 200- and 400-meter dash, posting times of 27.33 seconds and 1:02.71, respectively.

Fugett captured first place in the shot put (55' 1.5") and second place in the discus (155' 7").

The maroon and gold will be well represented at the championship meet, which will take place at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio from May 27-29.
