SU men's track team ranked No. 28 in the USTFCCCA power rankings

NEW ORLEANS - The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its Division III Track & Field Power Rankings this week and the Salisbury University men's team is ranked No. 28. The Sea Gulls collected 178.13 points good for second place in the Mideast Region behind Carnegie Mellon College.

Augustana College from the Midwest Region is ranked No. 1 in the nation with 211.85 points. University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh from the same region is ranked second with 209.58 points. Claremont Mudd-Scripps College is the third-ranked team from the West Region as it has 209.51 points. North Central College which also hails from the Midwest Region is ranked No. 4 with 206.68 points. Williamette College from the West Region rounds out the top five with 206.14 points.

SU is the highest ranked Capital Athletic Conference school as University of Mary Washington is ranked 41st and York (Pa.) College is ranked 48th.

The SU women's track and field team is currently ranked No. 68 with 105.94 points and No. 10 in the region.

Salisbury will next travel to Frostburg, Md., to compete in the 2009 Mason-Dixon Outdoor Track and Field championships from May 1-2.
