Spriggs earns his second ECAC Track and Field Athlete of the Week award

CENTREVILLE, Mass. - Salisbury University junior sprinter Delannie Spriggs was named Eastern Colleges Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Track Co-Athlete of the Week on Wednesday. This is the second time this season Spriggs has earned this weekly honor from the ECAC as he was selected for the award on March 25. Spriggs shares the award with New York University's Jesse Schneider.

The All-American led the Sea Gulls to their sixth straight Capital Athletic Conference championship last weekend in Fredericksburg, Va. Spriggs set a new conference record in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.62 seconds, breaking York (Pa.) College's Rob Powell's record from 1998. The Owings, Md., native had a second place finish in the 200-meter dash in a personal best 21.62 seconds. Spriggs wrapped up the day with first-place finish in the 4x100 meter relay in 41.85 seconds teaming up with Wayne Turner, Paul Moore and Xzavier Robertson.

The maroon and gold will travel to the University of Pennsylvania this weekend (April 23-25) to participate in the historic Penn Relays.
