SU women's track and field earns academic honors
NEW ORLEANS - The U.S. Track & Field and
Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced its 2007
Division III All-Academic teams and Salisbury University was one of
the 73 women's track and field teams recognized. The Sea Gulls had
a cumulative team GPA of 3.18 which is above the minimum 3.00
requirement.
Salisbury was joined by CAC foe Hood College (3.32) and former CAC
opponent Goucher College (3.45). Frostburg State University (3.17)
was the other Maryland school represented on the list. Whitworth
College led all 73 schools with a 3.63 GPA. The University of
Wisconsin La Crosse and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh won the
2007 Division III USTFCCCA Women's All-Academic Indoor and Outdoor
Team's of the Year, respectively.
The selection of the All-Academic Indoor and Outdoor Team's of the
Year award is based on a combination of athletic and academic
achievements, with the top honor going to the team that had the
best finish at the Division III Indoor and/or Outdoor National
Championships and also
holding the highest cumulative GPA. To be nominated, the team must
carry a minimum 3.000 cumulative GPA.
