Canzanese earns academic honors
SALISBURY, Md. - Junior Alicia
Canzanese, a member of the Salisbury University women's
track and field team, earned second team ESPN The Magazine Academic
All-District women's track and field/cross country honors in the
District 2 College Division released on June 7. The Chadds Ford,
Pa. native holds a 3.92 grade point average in athletic training.
Canzanese was a part of two relay teams that broke school records.
One in the 4x100 meter relay (49.29) and the other with the 4x400
meter relay team which set the school mark at the Mason-Dixon
Outdoor Championships with a time of 4:02.07.
Canzanese played a big role for Salisbury at the 2007 Capital
Athletic Conference championships hosted by the Sea Gulls where the
maroon and gold finished second. The junior placed 1st in the 100
meter dash and 2nd in the 200 meter dash at the CAC championships.
Canzanese and company then captured the 2007 Mason-Dixon Outdoor
Championship, the first-ever title for a SU women's track and field
team.
