Sea Gull swim teams split tri-meet in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Salisbury University men's and women's swim teams faced Capital Athletic Conference opponents Gallaudet University and the University of Mary Washington on Saturday afternoon, with each team going 1-1 on the day. The Sea Gulls defeated Gallaudet, but fell to Mary Washington; the day brings both teams' records to 2-2 overall, 2-1 CAC.

The Sea Gulls were unable to win any individual events at the meet; regardless, they performed solidly, with eight second-place finishes and a host of third-place finishes. As the points added up, Salisbury was able to defeat Gallaudet soundly but was unable to take down Mary Washington. The 50-yard breaststroke was a successful event for senior Jessica Krauss (Clarksville, Md.) and senior Mike Ferrari (Columbia, Md.), who finished the race in 33.45 seconds and 29.10 seconds, respectively. The times were good enough to earn second place for each swimmer.

The maroon and gold's next meet will be away, against Washington College, on Nov. 11 at 6 p.m.
