Seven Sea Gulls honored with All-CAC awards

YORK, Pa. - The Salisbury University men's and women's swimming teams have a combined seven athletes that have been honored as All-CAC swimmers.

Junior Katy Turner (Salisbury, Md.) is the representative from the women's team for the 200-yard butterfly. She finished third in the event at the CAC Championships with a time of 2:18.00. She led the women to their fifth place finish in the meet with 389 points. Turner is a two-time All-CAC athlete; last season as a sophomore, she was a third-team All-CAC swimmer for the 400-yard medley relay.

The men's team was honored with six All-CAC swimmers. Junior Tim Metcalf (Baltimore, Md.), sophomore Steve Eyler (Gambrills, Md.) and freshmen Eric Robichaud (Annapolis, Md.) and Paul Zoli (Fallston, Md.) all received their first All-CAC awards for their third place finish in the freestyle relay, posting a time of 3:17.63. Robichaud and Zoli were not finished as they, along with senior Mike Ferrari (Columbia, Md.) and sophomore Jason Preston (Pasadena, Md.), received All-CAC honors in the medley relay. They finished in third with a time of 3:44.63. Preston received his first All-CAC award while Ferrari won his fourth as a Sea Gull swimmer.

The Sea Gulls are well represented in the CAC after another good season in which the men finished 6-4, and the women finished 5-5.
