First Sea Gull wins Swimming Athlete of the Week

YORK, Pa. - Salisbury University freshman swimmer Eric Robichaud (Annapolis, Md.) was honored as the CAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 2, 2010.

Robichaud swept the 50 and 100-yard freestyle races and was a part of the 400-yard medley relay team that gave Salisbury the lead to help the Sea Gulls swim past Catholic in their final meet of the dual meet season. He edged out teammate sophomore Stephen Eyler (Gambrills, Md.) by only .14 seconds to complete his sweep of the sprint freestyle races.

Salisbury sophomore women's swimmer Katie Fitzenreiter (Columbia, Md.) earned a special mention for the week, as well. She had two individual wins of her own in the 1,000-yard freestyle and the 500-yard freestyle to help the Sea Gulls defeat Catholic.

The Sea Gulls will next be in action at the CAC Championships at St. Mary's College on Feb. 12.
