Swimming Program honored as Team Scholar All-Americans

SCOTTSDALE, Az. - The Salisbury University men's and women's swim team were recently named a 2009 College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American team for their work in the classroom and in the pool.

The men's team, who came in fourth at the Capital Athletic Conference Championships in February, posted a team grade-point average of 3.08. The women's team, which also took fourth at the CAC Championships, had a team GPA of 3.28.

CAC foe St. Mary's (Md.) College was the only other conference school to garner similar accolades as the women's team finished with a team GPA of 3.39.

The SU swim program was one 52  Division III schools to have both the men's and women's swim programs honored as Team Scholar All-Americans.  

For teams to be eligible, the team must have a GPA of 3.0 or better (or the equivalent converted) on a 4.00 scale for the semester.
