Robichaud named CAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week

NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly conference athlete of the week awards and Salisbury University freshman Drew Robichaud (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) was named the men's swimming recipient for the week of January 21.

Robichaud was the only Sea Gull to win two men's swimming individual events last Saturday at St. Mary's (Md.) College. Salisbury won the meet 127-78. The freshman took home first-place in the 1,000 yard freestyle (10:41.49) and the 200 backstroke (2:06.21). This was the fourth straight meet victory for the maroon and gold. The Annapolis, Md., native was also on the third-place 400 medley relay team (4:07.95).

For the season, Robichaud has eight individual first-place finishes to his credit and two relay wins.

Robichaud is the first SU men's swimming student-athlete to earn CAC Athlete of the Week honors this season.

Salisbury (6-4, 4-2 CAC) returns to action on Saturday, January 26, as the Sea Gulls travel out of conference to face Catholic University of America on the road at 1 p.m.
