LOUISVILLE – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released its latest coaches poll on Wednesday with the Salisbury University softball team climbing into the rankings for the first time in the 2019 season.
The Sea Gulls have opened the season with seven wins in their first eight games to go from unranked to the No. 17 spot in the nation, picking up 65 points in the poll, just 17 points behind Central (Iowa) College and Claremont-Mudd-Scripts Colleges, which are tied for 15th.
Salisbury is joined in the NFCA poll from the Capital Athletic Conference by Christopher Newport University, which sits at No. 8.
Salisbury will be in action this Friday, hosting the State University of New York at Cortland in a doubleheader at Sea Gull Softball Stadium, beginning at 1:30 p.m.
