VIDEO: Softball slugs 10 extra-base hits in win over Clarkson

The Salisbury University softball team brought their bats to life in a 12-0 win in five innings against Clarkson University in day one action of the Salisbury University Softball Tournament. The Sea Gulls scored in every inning of the game, getting the team’s second grand slam of the year, this one coming off the bat of sophomore Emily Allen. Allen finished the game 2-for-3 driving in six runs as she added a two-run double. Two more long balls capped the scoring in the final inning with Dakotah Fraley smashing a two-run shot and Annie Pietanza stepping up and making it back-to-back-shots. This triple in the second inning off the bat of LeAnne Collins was the 12th of her career, tying her for the program record. It was one of 10 extra-base hits in the game for the Sea Gulls. Sophomore Alexis Layton earned the win in the circle, picking up her first collegiate complete game, striking out three in her five innings. Salisbury will host the second day of the tournament on Sunday, March 4 beginning at 1
