Softball earns team, individual academic honors from NFCA

LOUISVILLE – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced its 2018 Easton/NFCA Academic Teams and Scholar-Athletes this week and Salisbury University's softball team was well represented.

Salisbury was named one of 102 Division III programs to be named an NFCA Academic Team for the 2018 season. The Sea Gulls finished with a team grade-point average of 3.380, with 10 Sea Gulls named Scholar-Athletes leading the way.

Seniors LeAnne Collins and Rachael Milligan; juniors Shannon Powell, Cat Ramagnano, and Amelia Trotter; sophomores Emily Allen and Kaila Beach; and freshmen Madeira Alexander, Cailyn Joseph and Lilly Wingo all earned the individual honor with grade-point averages of at least 3.50.

The Sea Gulls saw success on the field as well as in the classroom in 2018, posting a 30-15 record while advancing to the NCAA tournament.
