Softball earns at-large bid to NCAA tournament, will travel to TCNJ for regional

INDIANAPOLIS – The Salisbury University softball team was one of 20 teams to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Division III Softball Tournament, as the tournament field was announced on Monday afternoon.

The Sea Gulls will head to a regional hosted by No. 19 The College of New Jersey as Salisbury makes its 22nd NCAA tournament appearance in program history.

The Sea Gulls will take on No. 11 Moravian College in its first game of the double-elimination four-team regional this Friday, May 11. The host Lions will face Johnson & Wales (R.I.) University in their first game.

Salisbury faced TCNJ earlier this year, splitting a doubleheader, while having not faced Moravian since the 2006 season. The Sea Gulls have never played against Johnson & Wales.

The Sea Gulls closed the season with a deep run in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament, advancing to the conference championship series, and taking one game in the best-of-three series against No. 8 Christopher Newport University.
