Lake named second team Academic All-American

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The College Sports Information Directors of America announced its Division III Academic All-American squads for softball on Tuesday and Salisbury University senior Caitlin Lake was named to the second team.

This marks Lake's second Academic All-American honor in her career, being named to the first team last year.

Lake started every game this season in center field for the Sea Gulls, with a .355 batting average to go with eight doubles, four triples and three home runs. She drove in 31 runs and scored 35 times. Defensively, Lake was a stellar outfielder over her four years, closing out her senior season with a .942 fielding percentage, recording four outfield assists.

Along with being a leader on the field, Lake has been a standout in the classroom, with a 3.96 cumulative grade-point average as a dual major in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education.
