LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released its latest top 20 coaches' poll on Wednesday, and the Salisbury University softball team held at No. 11, tied with Alfred University.
Salisbury went 3-0, claiming a trio of 8-0 wins this past week while hosting the Salisbury Invitational, earning 114 points in this week's poll.
The University of Texas-Tyler remains atop the poll, claiming 200 points and all eight first-place votes. Washington University in St. Louis sits in second place, with 185 points while Christopher Newport University (184 points), Emory University (181), and Tufts University (159) round out the top five.
Salisbury is in action this weekend, hosting the Sea Gull Classic. The schedule has been altered slightly, with the Sea Gulls taking on Capital University at the SU Softball Field on Friday at 12 and 2 p.m., The State University of New York at New Paltz on Saturday, at 10 a.m., and noon, and Lynchburg College on Sunday at 12 and 2 p.m.
