Johnson named to NCAA All-Tournament Team

SALEM, Va. – On the heels of the completion of the 2015 NCAA Division III Softball Championship, the organization announced its All-Tournament Team, and senior Rachel Johnson, who led the Salisbury University softball team to a third-place finish in the event, was selected for recognition.

Johnson pitched all 26 2/3 innings for the Sea Gulls, who went 2-2 in championship play, advancing to the semifinals before falling to the University of Texas-Tyler.

In her time in the circle, Johnson posted a 1.84 earned-run average, surrendering 15 hits, while striking out 29 batters including a personal tournament-high 11 against Kean University in an elimination game as part of a one-hit, complete-game victory.

The honor is added to a list of many Johnson has achieved in her career, being a four-time National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region selection, a three-time All-American, and a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American.
