LOUISVILLE – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released the latest top 25 coaches' poll on Wednesday and the Salisbury University softball team has held at the No. 2 spot.
The Sea Gulls received 189 points in this week's rankings, following a four-win week in which they swept the University of Mary Washington and DePauw University in doubleheaders to improve to 12-1 on the year.
Tufts University retained the No. 1 spot in the poll, collecting all eight first-place votes and 200 points, while East Texas Baptist University picked up 186 points and stands in third. The University of Texas-Tyler (177 points) and Luther College (162) round out the top five.
Salisbury returns to action this afternoon, hosting Wesley College in a Capital Athletic Conference doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m., at the SU Softball Field.
