LOUISVILLE – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released its latest top 25 coaches' poll on Wednesday, and Salisbury University continues to sit at the No. 2 spot in the nation.
Salisbury took 192 points, while Tufts University remains the No. 1 team with 200 points and all eight first-place votes. East Texas Baptist University (184 points), the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (175), and the University of Texas-Tyler (168) round out the top five.
Capital Athletic Conference foe Christopher Newport University stands at No. 10 in the nation, having picked up 112 points.
The Sea Gulls will have a busy weekend ahead, hosting the Salisbury University Tournament on Friday and Saturday, March 13-14. Salisbury opens play in the event with two games against Ursinus College on Friday, beginning at 1 p.m. On Sunday, March 15, Salisbury will host Lynchburg College in a doubleheader beginning at noon.
