WALDORF, Md. – The Salisbury University softball team will be represented by four current players and one alumnus in an exhibition doubleheader against the United States of America Softball Women's National Team on Tuesday at 7 p.m., at Regency Furniture Stadium, home of the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs, the Amateur Softball Association of America and USA Softball recently announced.
Junior Rachel Johnson and sophomores Katie Sebbane, Paige Knussman, and Kim Dorsey will be joined by former Sea Gull pitcher and current Washington (Md.) College Head Coach Lacey Lister as members of the Maryland-DC All Stars in the exhibition, which will serve as preparation for the USA national team for the International Softball Federation Women's World Championships.
Dorsey, Johnson, and Knussman were all honored as first-team All-Americans this past season, while all four Sea Gulls were named first-team All-Capital Athletic Conference members. The group helped the team advance to the NCAA Division III Championship in 2014, before falling to Tufts University.
Lister, a four-time All-American and All-CAC team member for Salisbury from 2003-2006, is the program's all-time leader in pitching victories (108) and strikeouts (1,096). She led the Shorewomen to a 26-13-1 record in 2014, her sixth season at the helm for the team.
