LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Salisbury University softball team sits as the No. 6 team in the nation, as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association released its latest coaches' poll on Wednesday.
Salisbury earned 154 points in the latest poll, just 10 points shy of No. 5 Linfield College, following a runner-up performance in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament this past weekend.
The University of Texas-Tyler is the new No. 1 team with six first-place votes and 196 points, followed closely by Tufts University (188 points and one first-place vote) and Trine University (187 points and one first-place vote).
Montclair State University claimed 170 points to sit fourth, just ahead of Linfield.
Salisbury will be back in action this Sunday, April 27, traveling to Stevenson University for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
