Against the Captains

The last time we met
The teams met just under a month ago, splitting a doubleheader at Captains Park, on March 22. Salisbury took the opener, 11-2 in six innings, before the Captains grabbed the nightcap, 2-0. It was the only loss of the regular season for the Sea Gulls.
How we got here
Second-seeded Salisbury earned a 10-3 win against third-seeded Frostburg State University on Thursday. Junior Rebecca Hoey and sophomore Kim Dorsey each went deep in the game, while junior Rachel Johnson collected the win, working all seven innings and striking out 11.
How they got here
The Captains picked up an 8-0 win, in six innings, against York College of Pennsylvania in the third game of Thursday. Christopher Newport scored five runs in the first two innings and never looked back. Center fielder Meghan Jones was 4-for-4 in the game with a double and home run while Krista Lewis earned the win for the Captains. Lewis surrendered just two hits and struck out a pair in the complete-game win.
The winner of this morning's game will head to the CAC championship game on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. The losing team this morning will play again at 2 p.m., against winner of Friday's noon elimination game between Frostburg State University and York College of Pennsylvania.
