LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association released its top 25 coaches poll on Wednesday morning, and for the second-straight week, Salisbury University stands as the No. 1 team in the nation.
Following a 6-0 week, the Sea Gulls picked up all eight first-place votes and 200 points in this week's poll, nine points clear of second-place Montclair State University, which held its spot from last week's poll.
The top six places in this week's rankings remained the same, with the University of Texas at Tyler ranked No. 3, with 184 points, Tufts University (176 points) at No. 4, and Trine University (168 points) rounding out the top five.
Salisbury will be the second-seeded team in the Capital Athletic Conference tournament, which begins on Thursday at No. 13 Christopher Newport University. The Sea Gulls will take on third-seeded Frostburg State University, Thursday at noon in each team's first game of the event.
