LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Salisbury University softball team remained the No. 2 team in the nation, as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association released its latest coaches poll on Wednesday.
The Sea Gulls won their only two games last week, sweeping then-No. 23 Washington College in a doubleheader on Thursday afternoon. Salisbury gained one point in this week's poll, grabbing 192 points behind only Tufts University. The Jumbos collected all eight first-place votes and 200 points.
Montclair State University remained the third-ranked team, with 184 points, and the University of Texas-Tyler (175 points) held at No. 4 while Luther College and Trine University each climbed into the top five, tied for fifth, with 160 points each.
Salisbury will be in action this afternoon, hosting Virginia Wesleyan College, which moved up to No. 7 in this week's poll. Today's doubleheader begins at 3 p.m.
