LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association revealed its latest Division III Top 25 Poll on Wednesday and Salisbury University moved to No. 2 in the nation.
The Sea Gulls climbed to No. 1 last week before a doubleheader split at Christopher Newport University this past Saturday.
Salisbury (15-1) claimed 191 points in the poll, with one first-place vote, just eight points behind No. 1 Tufts University. The Jumbos claimed the other seven first-place votes and 199 points, as they move back to the top spot, which they occupied through the first four polls this year.
Montclair State University held at the No. 3 spot, with 186 points, followed by the University of Texas-Tyler (169 points), up from No. 9, and Linfield College (165 points), which moved up from No. 10, to round out the top five.
Salisbury is scheduled to return to action on Thursday, March 27 at Washington (Md.) College for a doubleheader beginning at 2:30 p.m. They are slated to be the first of six road games this week for the Sea Gulls, who travel to Southern Virginia University on Saturday and Frostburg State University on Sunday.
