Sea Gulls enter top five in NFCA poll; first time since 2009
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced the Division III Top 25 Poll on Wednesday, and the Salisbury University softball team moved up three spots to enter the top five and become the fourth-ranked team in the nation. The Sea Gulls are tied with Trine University in the fourth slot.
The last time Salisbury moved into the top five was in 2009, when the Sea Gulls finished the season ranked No. 5.
Salisbury (24-2) earned two Capital Athletic Conference wins last week and swept Eastern Shore rival Washington (Md.) College to earn 163 points in this week's poll.
Montclair State University remains the unanimous No. 1 team in the nation with 200 points while Emory University stayed put in the second spot (192 points). The University of Texas at Tyler moved up one spot to third in the nation with 184 points.
SU travels to Wesley College for a CAC doubleheader today, Wednesday, April 10. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
