Softball moves up two spots in NFCA poll
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Salisbury University softball team continues to rise in the NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll as the Sea Gulls are now the No. 7 team in the nation, the National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced on Wednesday.
Salisbury (20-2) ascended two spots after sweeping then-No. 21 Christopher Newport University last week and then claiming its first two Capital Athletic Conference wins against York (Pa.) College.
The Sea Gulls collected 145 points in the poll.
Montclair State University is once again the unanimous top team in the nation with all eight first-place votes and 200 points.
The top-five teams saw no change from last week as Emory University remains second with 192 points. Illinois Wesleyan University (182 points), the University of Texas at Tyler (178 points), and Trine University (161 points) fill out the remaining spots, respectively.
SU takes to the SU Softball Field on Saturday, April 5 in a Capital Athletic Conference battle against the University of Mary Washington. Game time is set for 12:30 p.m.
