LOUISVILLE, KY. – The Salisbury University softball team climbed up the NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll one spot to take become the No. 17 team in the nation, the organization released on Wednesday.
After an action packed week, the Sea Gulls concluded their eight-game run going 6-2; Salisbury (12-2) earned 60 points in the poll.
The top three teams in the nation saw little change as Monclair State University (199 points) ranked first with seven first-place votes while the University of Texas at Tyler (181 points) also stayed in the third slot. Emory University made a jump from the fourth spot and now sits in between the Red Hawks and Patriots at No. 2 in the nation. Emory collected the final first-place vote with 182 points.
Salisbury is set to host the Salisbury Invitational at the SU Softball Field this Friday and Saturday. The Sea Gulls will play a doubleheader beginning at noon on Friday, March 15, first taking on Capital University and then going up against the State University of New York at Cortland at 2 p.m.
