Softball season opener delayed until Saturday due to inclement weather

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. – The Salisbury University softball season-opening tournament, hosted by Methodist University, has been pushed back a day and will begin on Saturday, Feb. 23, due to inclement weather.

The Sea Gulls will face Piedmont College at 1 p.m., and then take the field against Berry College at 3 p.m., on Saturday.

The two-day tournament will continue on Sunday as SU will take on Huntingdon College and Eastern Mennonite University at 9 a.m., and 11 a.m., respectively.

Salisbury ended last season with a 37-7 overall record, claiming its 16th consecutive Capital Athletic Conference title and making its 17th NCAA tournament appearance.
