Mar 8, 2008 Second Day of the Sea Gull Classic gets wiped out by rainSALISBURY, Md. - The rain was too much on
Saturday for the 12th Annual Sea Gull Classic softball tournament
to continue at the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex. The tournament
was cancelled by early afternoon as several rainstorms came through
the region.
The tournament was able to get a few games in on
Saturday morning. The third-ranked Lynchburg Hornets completed
Friday's rain-shortened game with King's (Pa.) College as the
Hornets won 4-3. Virginia Wesleyan defeated Allegheny College 3-1
in five innings while Rutgers Camden shutout Cabrini 14-0.
Salisbury University did not complete any games on Saturday.
The rest of the tournament schedule will not be made up.
The Sea Gulls (7-3) will next be in action on Wednesday, March
12, at 2 p.m. at home against Christopher Newport University.
