Sea Gulls picked to finish third in CAC in men's tennis

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team enters the 2019 season picked by the Capital Athletic Conference coaches to place third as the league office release the results of the poll Thursday afternoon.

The Sea Gulls earned 37 points in the poll to place in third, behind Christopher Newport University, which earned 43 points and one first-place vote, and the preseason favorite, the University of Mary Washington, which earned 49 points and the maximum seven first-place votes.

Southern Virginia University picked up 30 points to sit in fourth in the poll, while York College of Pennsylvania finished out the top five with 24 points.

Salisbury opens its 2019 season with the three-day Sea Gull Open at the Salisbury University Indoor Tennis Center beginning on Friday, February 8. The Sea Gulls' first match will be a home contest against Dickinson College on Saturday, February 16, beginning at 1 p.m.
