Men's tennis tops Harford 6-3 on Senior Day

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team picked up a 6-3 victory on Sunday against Harford Community College on Senior Day at the Salisbury University Tennis Center.

Prior to the match, the team recognized its two seniors, Brandon Danganan and Connor Truitt.

In doubles play, Danganan earned an 8-5 win at No. 3 with playing partner Garrett Malave. At No. 2 doubles, Matthew Ryan and Patrick MacLean picked up an 8-1 win, but Harford (8-9) got a point with an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles topping the Salisbury pair of Colt Williamson and Ian Siew.

Needing three singles points to seal the team victory, MacLean earned a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 and Williamson won at No. 1 by a 6-2, 6-0 score while Danganan dropped a 6-3, 6-3 decision at No. 5.

Malave earned the fifth point for Salisbury with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-5) win at No. 4 before Stefan Hein garnered the sixth point for Salisbury (15-5) claiming a 3-6, 6-1, 6-2 win at No. 2.

After falling in his opening set, 6-1, at No. 6, Truitt forced a third set in his match by coming back to get a late break and win the second set 7-5. But in the third set, Harford's Bruno Brocanelli came away with the 10-8 win for the match.

The Sea Gulls close out their regular season slate with a home match on Wednesday, April 25 against Washington (Md.) College beginning at 4 p.m.
