FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Capital Athletic Conference released weekly honors for the week ending March 4. Salisbury University men's tennis freshman Stefan Hein earned recognition as he was named the men's tennis Player of the Week.
Hein was exceptional for the maroon and gold, posting a 2-0 mark in singles play, including defeating the 47th-ranked player in the country and No. 10 player in the Atlantic South Region from Johns Hopkins, Cody Kim, 0-6, 6-4, 10-6. Hein also picked up a victory in the No. 1 singles spot over Frostburg State University 6-2, 6-1.
For the season Hein is 5-0 in singles matches, earning three of those victories in the No. 3 spot, while going 2-1 in doubles with teammate Kelson Weber.
Salisbury returns to action on Friday, March 9 when it travels to Lancaster, Pennsylvania to take on Franklin & Marshall College. The match is scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
