FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team saw action this past weekend in the ITA Southeast Regional hosted by the University of Mary Washington, getting strong results led by senior Kelson Weber and freshman Stefan Hein winning their doubles draw.
Weber and Hein won four matches to claim the B1 doubles championship, claiming their first match 8-1 before getting wins of 8-5 and 8-6 to advance to the championship match. In the title tilt, the pair won 8-5 against Hampden-Sydney College's Clark Cummings and William Driskill for the championship.
Siew collected a 6-2, 6-1 victory in the opening round of the championship singles draw before being eliminated while classmate Colt Williamson also garnered a first-round victory, winning 6-2, 6-2. Hein lost in the opening round of the championship bracket, but was able to collect a 6-4, 6-4 win in the consolation draw.
In the B2 singles draw, Weber advanced to the semifinals with a win of 6-3, 6-4 in the opening round and a hard-fought three-set win in the second round, splitting the first two sets in tie-breakers before earning the final set 6-2.
Ryan grabbed a three-set win in the B2 draw, winning 7-5, 4-6, 6-0.
