Spangler earns third CAC Player of the Week

YORK, Pa. – Salisbury University men's tennis senior Eric Spangler was honored with his third Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week of the season, the league announced on Tuesday.

Spangler posted a 7-1 week to earn the award, including taking all four of his singles' matches in straight sets. He only lost eight games in his singles' wins, while taking down Christopher Newport University's Justin Cerny, the 17th-ranked player in the Atlantic South Region, 6-0, 6-2. With the four wins, Spangler tied Evan Thomas for the most singles' wins in program history with 59.

He also won three-of-four doubles matches with partner Shanon Gunther, while only dropping five games.

Spangler and the Sea Gulls are back in action next Friday, April 15 at Elizabethtown College, beginning at 3 p.m.
