Sea Gulls cruise to 9-0 win over Frostburg State

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team remained perfect on the young Capital Athletic Conference season, picking up its second CAC win in as many days, taking down Frostburg State University, 9-0, in a match played at the University of Mary Washington on Saturday afternoon.

The Sea Gulls (9-3, 2-0 CAC) started by sweeping the doubles matches, led by junior Shanon Gunther and freshman Noah Orders, claiming the No. 2 doubles match, 8-0. Senior Demetri Vrahnos and freshman Sean Ngo won at No. 1 by an 8-1 score while the Salisbury duo of senior Adam Goldberger and sophomore Grant Hudson won 8-3 at No. 3.

Salisbury won the top three singles matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores with senior Daniel Albers winning at No. 1, while Vrahnos and Gunther won at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.

Ngo picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4, while Hudson won by the same score at No. 6. Goldberger collected a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 5 to round out the nine wins for Salisbury.

The Sea Gulls return home on Sunday, taking on York College of Pennsylvania and Penn State Unviersity-Harrisburg at the SU Tennis Courts. Salisbury plays the Spartans at 9 a.m., and will host the Nittany Lions at 1 p.m.
