YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference released its weekly tennis awards, and Salisbury University junior Daniel Albers and sophomore Natalie Savage have been named the Men's Co-Player and the Women's Player of the Week, respectively, the league announced on Tuesday.
Savage earned the award after going 4-0 in single play, including a 6-1, 6-4 win against the University of Mary Washington's Lindsay Raulston, who is ranked No. 12 in the South Atlantic Region. The Port Murray, N.J., native also went 3-2 at No. 1 doubles for the week.
Albers took the honor on the men's side following a 7-0 record for the week. He won his three singles matches, while dropping just six games during the week. In doubles play, he went 4-0 at the No. 1 spot.
The Salisbury men will be in action on Saturday, April 12 hosting Mary Washington and the men and women will each host St. Mary's College of Maryland on Sunday.
