YORK, Pa. - The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly tennis awards Tuesday and Salisbury University freshman Eric Spangler was chosen as the Men's Player of the Week.
Spangler posted two 6-0, 6-0 victories at No. 2 singles over Christopher Newport University and St. Mary's College of Maryland, improving his record to 10-7 on the season. Spangler and sophomore Daniel Albers also earned two wins at No. 1 doubles during the week, improving their record together to 15-3.
Spangler also contributed the only two points for the Sea Gulls in their 7-2 loss to CNU last Tuesday.
Salisbury clinched the No. 2 seed in the upcoming CAC tournament with its 7-2 win over St. Mary's on Saturday.
The Sea Gulls return to action Friday, April 19, when they take on Washington (Md.) College at the SU Tennis Courts. The match is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
