YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its yearly men's tennis awards and Salisbury University not only had six players named to the squads, but also had freshman Daniel Albers honored as the league's co-Rookie of the Year.
Albers posted a 13-8 singles record, including a 13-7 mark at No. 2, where he was selected for the All-CAC Second Team, and was 17-5 at No. 1 doubles with senior partner Daniel Barnas. The duo earned second-team All-CAC doubles honors.
Albers is the sixth Sea Gull to claim Rookie of the Year honors, with Barnas being the last to do so, following the 2009 season.
Mancuso registered an 8-4 record at No. 5 singles and was 11-10 overall on the season while Smith was 5-4 at No. 6 and Goldberger claimed his singles honor by posting a 6-5 mark at No. 4 singles.
All six of Salisbury's starters for the 2012 season claimed second-team doubles honors. The No. 2 pair of Goldberger and Smith posted a 5-6 mark this year while Mancuso and Quandt went 5-5 at No. 3 doubles.
With Salisbury's 10 overall selections, the men's tennis program has earned 155 All-CAC honors in program history.
