YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference released its weekly tennis awards on Tuesday and Salisbury University student-athletes won both awards this week. Senior Curtis Quandt claimed the men's Player of the Week award while junior Elaina Iosue was named the women's recipient.
Quandt earned four wins in matches against Stevenson University and Frostburg State University. He paired with Nick Mancuso at No. 3 doubles to record an 8-2 victory against the Mustangs and an 8-1 victory versus the Bobcats.
In No. 3 singles, Quandt defeated both opponents from Stevenson and Frostburg State in straight sets, dropping just six games.
Iosue partnered with Katie Youlios at No. 2 doubles defeating the Mustangs and Bobcats for straight-set victories and also topped both squads' players at No. 2 singles.
The teams will each play at home on Wednesday, April 11. The men will host Hunter College at 3 p.m., while both the men and the women will take on CAC foe Wesley College at 5 p.m.
