ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team's match against Capital Athletic Conference opponent St. Mary's (Md.) College came down to the wire on Wednesday afternoon, but tipped in the Seahawks' favor as they earned a narrow 5-4 victory against the Sea Gulls. The women's team, however, earned its sixth shutout win of the season with a 9-0 victory.

With the victory, the women's team improves its record to 10-2, 4-1 CAC.

The men's team (10-5, 3-2 CAC) was stunned by St. Mary's as the Seahawks earned their program's first-ever victory over Salisbury; entering the match, the Sea Gulls held a 22-0 all-time record against St. Mary's.

Sophomore Henry Stuhler stepped up to the No. 1 singles slot, earning a 6-3, 6-2 win to remain undefeated in 2011. Senior Evan Clifton came back from a 3-6 loss in the first game with 6-0, 6-4 wins in the second and third games to earn the individual match victory at No. 6 singles.

The Sea Gulls now hit the road on Saturday, April 9, to face off against CAC opponents Hood College and Stevenson University.
