Sea Gull tennis teams both ranked in preseason polls
Skillman, N.J. - Their season hasn't even begun yet, but two teams are already receiving accolades for what looks to be a strong year. The Salisbury University men's and women's tennis teams were both recognized in the ITA's (Intercollegiate Tennis Association) Preseason Division III Polls, released Thursday.
The men's team sits at No. 29 in the nation, and is currently ranked No. 7 in the Atlantic South Region. Seniors Scott Burtzlaff (Clarksville, Md.) and Evan Thomas (Salisbury, Md.) also broke into the national rankings, as the doubles team is ranked No. 11 in the nation this preseason.
For the women's side, the maroon and gold are currently ranked eighth in the Atlantic South Region; the women's preseason national poll has yet to be released.
