Sea Gulls ranked No. 29 in latest ITA rankings
SKILLMAN, N.J. - The Salisbury University men's tennis team returned to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III national poll on April 14 as the Sea Gulls are ranked No. 29. The Sea Gulls went 1-1 during the week as they dropped as match to No. 12 Johns Hopkins University on Sunday and defeated St. Mary's (Md.) College on Monday in a Capital Athletic Conference contest.
Salisbury (11-6, 4-1 CAC) is one of two CAC schools to be recognized in the national poll as University of Mary Washington is No. 17. The two teams squared off last week as the Eagles won the match 7-2.
Emory University remains No. 1 followed by Washington (Mo.) University at No. 2. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps is at No. 3 while UC Santa Cruz is fourth. Amherst College rounds out the top five.
Coach Halfpap has a chance to win his 100th women's tennis match on Thursday, April 16, on the road as the Sea Gulls travel to CAC foe Wesley College for a 2:30 p.m. contest. Salisbury will then host Eastern Shore rival Washington (Md.) College at home for a men's and women's match on Friday, April 17, at 2 p.m.
