ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. - Freshman Scott Burtzlaff was named Capital Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Rookie of the Year while 11 Sea Gulls earned all-conference honors which included two singles players and one doubles team on the first team.

Burtzlaff was joined by fellow freshman Evan Thomas as first-team No. 3 and No. 4 singles players each, respectively. The team of junior Brendan Kincaid and sophomore Matthew Nicholson claimed the conference's No. 1 doubles team.

Despite being injured midway through the season, Nicholson was named to the second team as a No. 1 singles player while Kincaid garnered a spot on the second team as the No. 2 singles player. Last season Kincaid was a first-team all-CAC member.

The Sea Gulls finished the season 17-7 and 6-1 in the conference and were the CAC runner-ups to nationally ranked University of Mary Washington. The Eagles won the Coach and Player of the Year awards and had 12 players earn All-CAC recognition. UMW was the only school to have its entire starting line-up earn All-CAC honors while SU had five of its six singles players recognized along with its three doubles team.
