VIDEO: Swimming vs. Frostburg State
The Salisbury University men’s and women’s swimming teams hosted Frostburg State University in Capital Athletic Conference action on Saturday, with the men earning their first win of the season, 110-92, and the women falling, 115-90. The men began and ended the day with relay victories. The team of Richie Baker, Kyle Russell, Josh Brown, and Andrew Ward opened the meet with a victory in the 200-meter medley relay, while Ward, Jeff Roman, Baker, and Brown finished the meet with a win in the 200-meter freestyle relay. Russell claimed two individual victories for the men. The first came in the 200-meter IM with a time of 2:20.23 and the second came in the 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:33.82. Brown, Moyer, and Baker each claimed one individual victory in 50-meter freestyle, 100-meter freestyle, and 200-meter backstroke, respectively. On the women’s side, Ryane Porter captured first in the 200-meter freestyle with a time of 2:23.20. Natalie Eakin claimed the other individual victory for the women, with hers coming in the 50-meter freestyle. The women ended the meet with a first-place finish in the 200-meter freestyle relay, as the team of Jordyn Rowe, Mary Green, Chase McClure, and Eakin posted a time of 1:57.80. The men’s and women’s swimming teams return to the pool on Wednesday, November 7 when they host Washington College at 5 p.m.
